Travis was born in Honolulu in 1981 and raised in Northern California. He attended Marin Catholic High School, where he was awarded the Marin County Athletic League’s Defensive Player of the Year in 1998. He was also First Team All Metro (Tight End) and First Team All State (Defensive End).
Travis was offered several college football scholarships. He ended up traveling back to his place of birth to play Defensive End for the University of Hawaii winning the All Western Athletic Conference Awards of; 2003 Western Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year and University of Hawaii MVP. He played in the prestigious Senior Bowl game in Alabama in January, 2004 and was drafted in the second round by the Tennessee Titans three months later. He also played for the Arizona Cardinals, the San Francisco 49ers, and is currently with the San Diego Chargers.
